richard wrote a poem in three seconds

margate i think

we were on a beach and there were people around 

and you cut two small squares for me with your pocket knife 

and the mother next to me stared for a long time

with her sunglasses sliding down to the edge of her nose

and the brim of her hat very close to my face

we sat on the beach and everything was bright and shimmering and we were sitting on a towel

and a seagull carried a shark in its mouth and we ran towards it for a long time

we drew things in the sand with our toes like animals and pentagrams and we gathered seaweed and made a fortress for the baby crabs we found dead or dying

we made them a castle

they had a kingdom

we had a kingdom

that lasted ~8 hours

until we ate pizza

and drove back to Philly
